Story

The TRADITIONAL HERBS Ritual

The crimson calyces of Hibiscus sabdariffa, beloved as 'flor de Jamaica' or 'rosa de Jamaica,' paint Honduran markets and traditional beverages with their tart, ruby essence.

The crimson calyces of Hibiscus sabdariffa, beloved as 'flor de Jamaica' or 'rosa de Jamaica,' paint Honduran markets and traditional beverages with their tart, ruby essence. Wild-harvested from native plantings, these flowers carry generations of Mesoamerican knowledge about refreshment, vitality, and celebratory wellness.

Celebrated for their vibrant color and cooling properties, they are shade-dried to preserve their anthocyanin-rich profile and natural acidity. Offered whole, ready for traditional infusion or culinary use, free from artificial colorants or sweeteners.

How to Use

How to Use

Hibiscus Tea (Hot Preparation)

Place 1-2 tablespoons (approximately 5-10g) of dried Hibiscus flowers in a teapot. Pour 1 cup (240ml) of boiling water over the flowers. Cover and steep for 5-10 minutes until the water turns deep ruby red. Strain and sweeten with honey or agave if desired. Drink hot or warm.

Agua de Jamaica (Cold Preparation)

Combine 1/4 cup (approximately 15g) of dried Hibiscus flowers with 4 cups (1 liter) of cold water in a pitcher. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Remove from heat, strain, and sweeten with sugar or honey while warm. Add 4 cups of cold water and chill. Serve over ice with lime wedges.

For Blood Pressure Support

Drink 2-3 cups of Hibiscus tea daily to traditionally support healthy blood pressure levels. Consistent consumption is recommended for optimal benefits.

For Antioxidant Support

Consume 1-2 cups of Hibiscus tea daily for its high antioxidant content, which supports overall wellness and cellular health.

Flavor Note

Hibiscus has a tart, cranberry-like flavor. Sweeten to taste and enhance with cinnamon, ginger, or citrus.
