Story

The TRADITIONAL HERBS Ritual

The broad, ribbed leaves of Plantago major, called 'llantén' across Honduras, carpet roadsides and disturbed soils as one of nature's most accessible first-aid plants.

The broad, ribbed leaves of Plantago major, called 'llantén' across Honduras, carpet roadsides and disturbed soils as one of nature's most accessible first-aid plants. Hand-gathered from wild patches far from contamination, these leaves carry European, indigenous American, and global knowledge about wound care and gentle healing.

Celebrated for their mucilage-rich texture and traditional applications in skin and respiratory support, they are shade-dried to preserve their allantoin and aucubin content. Offered whole or cut, free from roadside pollutants or chemical lawn treatments.

How to Use

How to Use

Plantain Leaf Infusion (Tea)

Place 1-2 teaspoons (5-8g) of dried Plantain leaves in a teapot or cup. Pour 1 cup (240ml) of boiling water over the leaves. Cover and steep for 10-15 minutes. Strain and drink 2-3 cups daily.

For Respiratory & Lung Support

Drink 2-3 cups of Plantain leaf tea daily to traditionally support lung health, ease cough, and soothe irritated airways. The mucilaginous properties provide gentle, coating relief.

For Digestive Wellness

Consume 1 cup of Plantain tea before meals to support digestive comfort, soothe stomach irritation, and promote intestinal health.

Topical Application (For Wound Healing)

Crush fresh Plantain leaves to release juices and apply directly to minor cuts, scrapes, insect bites, or skin irritations. The natural astringent and antimicrobial properties support wound healing. Alternatively, prepare a strong Plantain tea, cool it, and apply as a compress to affected areas.

Poultice (For Insect Bites & Stings)

Chew fresh Plantain leaves (if wild and clean) or crush thoroughly to release juices. Apply directly to insect bites or stings for immediate traditional relief from pain and swelling.
